Hermitage Monte Carlo
Overview
The Elegant Hermitage Monte Carlo is considered a historic monument in this part of the world and it is only steps away from the incredible Casino de Monte-Carlo. While many guests will spend their time in the nearby casino, others will find that they will be in the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, which is attached to the hotel.
The Nice Airport is only forty minutes away from this hotel via a car ride and those who would like to may choose to arrive at the hotel via helicopter. The hotel also provides a free shuttle to those guests who want to access the private beach area.
There are 280 guest rooms within this luxurious hotel, and out of those, there are twenty suites, fifteen junior suites, and eight Monte Carlo diamond suites. Almost all the rooms offer spectacular views of either the Monaco harbor or the Prince’s Palace.
Le Vistamar is the fine dining restaurant of choice for guests at this hotel, and Chef Joel Garault has managed to create a menu full of Mediterranean gastronomical delights. Diners can enjoy the breathtaking view of the harbor as they enjoy their meal.
The Crystal Bar is the perfect spot for a before or after meal drink, as is the Limùn Bar.
Those guests looking for a little more relaxation may want to venture over to the on-site spa for a seaweed treatment or some time in the sauna. The fitness center is another excellent option, and it gets a lot of use from those who are trying to stick with their workout routine.

Highlights & Reviews
- Location
- Bang in the middle of the principality’s prestigious Carré d’Or district and a one-minute walk from the main square with its casino, opera, restaurants and designer shops. The hotel has the advantage of a quiet garden square on one side, while the other side gazes over the Mediterranean port littered with superyachts towards the rock topped with the Prince’s medieval castle.
- Style
- Somehow this hotel pulls off the opulence of a 19th-century palace (think gold leaf and marble pillars) with the friendly convenience of a resort hotel. Belle Epoque details abound such as marble-topped commodes, ornate mantle clocks and decorative urns. Wow factors include the stained-glass atrium and the glass-fronted spa.
- Rooms
- Bedrooms features Louis XV-style chairs and colourful wallpaper panels. Marbled bathrooms contain monogrammed towels and generous-sized bathroom products by the legendary Parisian perfume maker Francis Kurkdjian. Superior Queen rooms are bijou or squeezed – depending upon your perspective. Superior King Rooms have more space, and Deluxe Garden View with Terrace Rooms are more than double the size, so it’s worth an upgrade if budget allows. The best-value rooms in the hotel are the Deluxe Sea View Rooms, which have gorgeous views, but you’ll have to book well in advance.
