Coral Reef Club Saint James
Overview
The Coral Reef Club Saint James has been in the O’Hara family since the 1950s, which means it excels when it comes to the luxurious qualities that it offers all guests. This hotel can be found in the middle of twelve acres of lush gardens and it has been the accommodations of choice for many British travelers since it opened.
There are 88 guest rooms and suites, and every day, fresh flowers are placed inside, as per tradition. These rooms can be found within a dozen buildings that are scattered amongst the grounds and they all offer amazing views of the gardens. The Plantation Suites and the Luxury Cottage Suites each have private plunge pools, which is perfect for those guests who are looking for a little romance during their visit.
Guests can wander along the paths of the gardens, as they smell the scents of the blooming bougainvillea and frangipani. The spa is the perfect place for guests to spend an afternoon as they get pampered with multiple treatment options.
The beach may not be one of the nicer ones in the area, but the massive swimming pool distracts guests from that fact while giving them a fabulous place to swim and relax.

Highlights & Reviews
- Location
- In a prime spot on the west coast, just north of Holetown. Its beach is not one of the best, but the hotel's lovely big main swimming pool somewhat compensates.
- Style
- Paths meander through grounds full of frangipani, bougainvillea, palms, ponds and much else besides - there are regular tours of the grounds. Bedrooms and public areas are, for the most part, the epitome of unshowy elegance, with colonial-era prints on coral rock walls. The beautifully designed spa feels perfectly integrated with the gardens.
- Rooms
- The 88 individually designed rooms occupy a dozen buildings dotted around the grounds. Top-of-the-range Plantation Suites (which are very showy) and Luxury Cottage Suites (more understated) come with their own plunge pools, but the much more affordable Garden rooms offer more than enough space and comfort for most bookers. TVs are available on request - and you're no longer charged extra for having one.
