Hotel De Paris Monte Carlo
Overview
The Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo was constructed back in 1864, and while it was once a traditional grand hotel, it has been transformed into a lavish palace for guests to stay in today. This luxurious hotel can be found on the Place du Casino, and it directly next door to the infamous Casino de Monte-Carlo. The staff at this hotel always exceeds every guests’ expectations, which is why it is continuously earning more than a five-star rating.
There are 263 spacious guest rooms and suites, and guests will enjoy staying in any of them during their visit. Everyone will receive a pass that will give them free or reduced admission fees to many of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mar properties. Guests will also receive free entry to the seven thousand square meters Thermes Marins Monte Carlo Spa, which is attached to the hotel.
This hotel is only a few minutes from the Monaco-Monte Carlo Train Station, and guests can arrive at the hotel from the Nice Airport within a thirty-minute drive. The hotel offers free shuttle to those guests who would like to spend time in the private beach area.
There are four distinct dining areas at this hotel and each one has earned at least three Michelin stars since they opened. Salle Empire serves breakfast and dinner to guests all year long. Those guests looking for a new wine will need to look no further than the hotel’s wine cellar, which happens to be the largest one in the world.

Highlights & Reviews
- Location
- For the ultimate Monte-Carlo experience, it’s hard to beat this fabled Casino Square location combined with Mediterranean harbour views. Step out of the hotel into the square to listen to opera in the Salle Garnier, attempt to break the bank at the casino, browse the parked Ferraris over coffee at the Café de Paris, or explore the immaculately manicured gardens. Designer shops and restaurants are within 100 metres, while the port is a five-minute walk.
- Style
- The sculpted Belle Epoque façade sets the scene for interiors of marbled colonnades and crystal chandeliers. A top-to-bottom hotel renovation due for completion in September 2018 includes the construction of a modernist bedroom wing, an interior garden courtyard, a spa, pool and private top-floor villa. If the architectural plans are anything to go by, this renovation will take the hotel to an unprecedented level of luxury.
- Dining
- Gastronomy is a strong suit. Set in a Rococo dream with modernist touches, Louis XV restaurant serves up three-Michelin-starred cuisine– try the blue lobster with myrtle berries and ginger – accompanied by wines from the 600,000-bottle wine cellar. The hotel’s main restaurant, Salle Empire, serves credible Mediterranean cuisine; make sure you grab a table on its casino-facing terrace to enjoy a generous à la carte breakfast. Expect freshly-squeezed juices, plentiful chopped fruits such as mango, raspberries and blueberries, and lots of pastries including waffles (around €45-€50/£39-£43 per person). Top-floor Le Grill with its sliding roof is the best place on the French Riviera for soufflé, while Côté Jardin is designed for lazy outdoor lunches; both are currently closed for renovation until the May 2017 Grand Prix. No trip to Monte-Carlo would be complete without a post-dinner drink listening to live Jazz at the American Bar.
