The elegant Soneva Fushi Maldives can be found within the spectacular UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Baa Atoll. The resort can be found on the private island there, out in the Indian Ocean, and guests can only get there via a thirty-minute seaplane ride from the Male International Airport.

There are 65 gorgeous villas and they are all tucked away into the lush greenery on the island. This allows every guest to enjoy the solitude that the island shares with those who take the time to visit. Everyone can easily walk to the beach in six minutes or less, and once they arrive, they will never want to leave. The white sand leads down to the sparkling water and guests will love strolling around barefoot as the waves lap over their feet.

Every guest’s stay will include a personal butler, so that their every whim and need is met at any time of the day or night. The butler can help arrange numerous activities, which include kite surfing, treetop yoga, diving, and sailing. Those who want slightly more low-key options will enjoy the on-site planetarium and open-air cinema.

The spa offers a large variety of treatments, although the hot stone massages and the body wraps are the most popular. After a day at the spa, many guests will wander to one of the restaurants for a delicious meal and one of the seven thousand plus bottles of wine that are in the wine cellar.

Location
Guests arrive by seaplane from Malé (30 minutes) and then it's a short transfer in a traditional dhoni boat to the verdant island of Kunfunadhoo.

Each villa is assigned a personal butler - a Mr or Ms Friday - to cater to guests' every need. Activities on offer include treetop yoga, sailing, kite surfing and diving with a resident marine biologist. There's also an open-air cinema and a planetarium to keep guests entertained. The resort's award-winning spa offers a range of relaxing treatments, including soothing body wraps and hot stone massages.

There's an excellent choice of dining options, including Mihiree Mitha, which serves wonderfully fresh sushi, and By The Beach, for Korean-inspired cuisine by candlelight.
