A world-class premier luxury resort, the Sandy Lane Hotel and Golf Club is set in a mahogany grove overlooking a sweeping crescent of golden sand and the Caribbean Sea. A classic Palladian-style building of cream coralstone, the spacious 112 room resort conjures up images of glorious exotic settings: between the mature mahogany trees, the sunlight shimmers on the sapphire clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. All 112 of the luxury rooms and suites uniquely feature a large private verandah. All rooms have plasma wide-screen television, DVD/CD player, stereo, private bar, personal in-room safe, and a convenient telephone system with direct dial access.
Acres of shiny marble and coral rock characterise grandiose Sandy Lane. The atmosphere is very smart but unstuffy, and while the place is packed with celebrities in the peak winter months, it’s full of normal people (albeit very well heeled ones) at other times. Everything – from an underwater sound system in the vast swimming pool, to golf carts kitted out with GPS systems – is no expense spared.

Highlights & Reviews
- Ocean rooms are slightly smaller than Orchid rooms, but overlook the clear, blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The Dolphin suites also afford stunning views of the sea. Penthouse Suites: These signature two bedroom penthouses have a unique decor and are set amidst the most beautifully manicured gardens. They are 3,971 square feet in size and consist of a large, elegant foyer, living and dining area, kitchen, a master bedroom with double vanity, separate shower and whirlpool tub, walk-in closets and a separate powder room with its own WC, shower and vanity. Each suite has a 42 inch plasma wide-screen television with Neos Entertainment features, which provides access to movies, music library and internet access.
- On the west coast just south of Holetown, backing on to a gorgeous arc of golden sand. Though the beach is public (all are on Barbados), Sandy Lane's is effectively very private.
- The two main restaurants both have a great reputation. Pillared L'Ajacou is for fine dining, while the more informal Bajan Blue is known for its indulgent buffets, and offers pizzas and sushi. Cookery classes are possible in the culinary school.
